Creating a New Crystal Report

There are a few steps involved in creating a new Crystal Report.

A complete tutorial or instruction on Report Creation using Crystal Reports is beyond the scope of this document, so a certain knowledge of Crystal Reports authoring is assumed.







1. Start by running Crystal and creating a new report (this example uses the Report Wizard.

2. You then need to create a new connection to the Design Database you exported when setting up the report in Martial Class™.

Select an OLE DB (ADO) connection.

3. Locate the design database you exported earlier, then select button - finish.

4. Add the tables you wish to use in the report.


Art - contains the style names and logos.

pictures - contains the your company logo and other graphics.

Info - can be ignored.

The other tables contain data selected by your extract queries.

After this has been set up, you can continue to build the report in the Crystal Reports application.

Once you have built the report and saved it (into the reports directory under the Martial Class™ program folder), you need to go back into Martial Class™, open the Report Design Window for the report and set the Report File field to point to the new Crystal Report.
