The Student Browser Window (F2)
Top  Previous  Next

The Student Browser Window is used to display all students assigned to a given venue (this is mainly used as a grouping tool for students and also determines which students will appear in the monthly attendance report).

studentbrowser
This window also displays a summary of the number of active students (or student found, if searching), and the total amount of money owed by students at this venue.

The toolbar buttons are:

showinactivestudents
Show all students for this venue, even those that are no longer active.
Note: This still only displays students "Assigned" to the selected venue.
collapse
Collapse all sub-tables (ie: hide all payment and order information).

studentsearch
Toggle the Search toolbar. Typing in the search text field will select students that contain the typed text in either their member number, or their first or last name. This searches ALL students, not just those from the selected venue.

recommend
Calculate and show who is recommended for grading.
This recommendation comes from the minimum time in grade and other parameters setup for the selected style. Students who are recommended will have this Icon against their Membership number. See The Styles Dialog and Configuring Styles and Belts for more information.

For each student, a sub-list will be available if:

·they have any money owing (amounts in bold red - NOTE: see Credits and Refunds for more information),
·or backorders you have not yet supplied givestock.

So, you can really think of this window as displaying "Current" information for students. The Attendance Window, on the other hand, displays historical information.

From this window, you can:

· double-click Students (or select them and use the right-click menu, or the Students Menu) to bring up their Student Details Window.
·drop items from the Items Window onto a student to sell items to that student.
·drag students from this window to another Student Browser to transfer a student
·drag students from this window to an Attendance Window to record attendance.
·drag students from this window to an Event Window to register students in events (gradings, tournaments, workshops, etc).
·double-click order items (or select items or students and use the menu options) to receive payments or supply backordered items to students.

TIP: On the Student Browser, Attendance and Events windows, you can popup a student's photo by holding down the ctrl key and hovering the mouse over the Grade column.
