Using a Different PC on a Network
When Martial Class is up and running (and so is Full Contact), and there is a network connection between them, all scanned data and control commands flow directly through to Martial Class for immediate processing. This includes scanning members for attendance and scanning items for sale, for raising purchase orders and for receiving stock.
When Martial Class is not running (or if the TCP communication fails), Full Contact automatically detects the lack of connection and reverts to storing attendance directly into the Martial Class database. In this mode no scanned stock items are handled. However, Full Contact is still capable of full attendance recording, and displaying full member details upon a successful match.
When Martial Class starts up again, shortly after initialising it checks to see if any scanned items were recorded in the database and processes them, thus automatically bringing your system up to date. |
Any time the Martial Class database becomes available to Full Contact, data relating to class schedules, scanner assignments, member details and other settings is constantly being mirrored into the local database for Full Contact to use when needing to run completely standalone.
It is possible that a machine failure, network failure or some other event will stop Full Contact having access to the Martial Class database. In this case, Full Contact reverts to using its local cached data (including class scheduling and scanner assignment) and continues operating. Attendance is recorded in a local cache table and uploaded the next time Martial Class connects. |
