Working with Student Contracts
Top

pic_contract Martial Class™ has a very powerful contract handling system, the first of it's kind in the industry.

Contracts can be set up to cover one or more people and can be combined with other regular or ad-hoc fees.

There are three main object types in Martial Class™ that are used to work with Contracts:

1) Contract Types

A Contract Type needs to be set up first. This object will describe a general contract your school offers along with various payment options. For more information on Contract Types, please see Managing Contract Types.

2) Contract Requirements

A Contract Requirement is used to tell the system who is covered by certain contract types, and which member should be the recipient of associated bills or charges for that contract when it is running. For more information, please see Managing Contract Requirements.

Contract Requirements must have an effective from date but may or may not have an effective end date.

3) Contracts

The contract object denotes an actual signed contract instance that the student has supplied to you and binds them into the training/billing agreement for that defined term.

Read more about contract objects in Managing Signed Contracts. Note that Contracts must have both a start date and an end date.

NOTE: Martial Class™ does not specifically cater for open ended contracts (as they are fairly uncommon). If you have such an arrangement, you are probably better off not using the contract capability and using periodic fees, or you can use the contracts system with a very long contract term and simply renew contracts as they expire.
