Martial Class™ tracks people in the system using an internal numbering system. This numbering system helps to ensure each student record is distinguishable, even between different Martial Class™ installations. It also means that it is not necessary for every person in the system to have a Membership Number.
Martial Class™ also has a Membership Number field for Members, and an automatic Membership Number generator (that you can turn on and off).
The format and sequence used for generating member numbers is configured in the Options Dialog. For more information on how to configure the Automatic Membership Number generator, please see the online help.
When you add a new student to Martial Class™ and you have the Automatic Number Generator configured, it will automatically assign the next number. If you do not wish this to happen, you can turn off the generator in the Options Dialog, or you can edit the student membership number and delete it. If you do this before you save the new student then that number is then used for the next member instead.
